Hair loss affects both men and women and it can be permenant or temporary. The treatment for hair loss depends on the causative factors including hormonal imbalance, underactive thyroid gland, stress, chemical exposure, nutrient deficiency, poor circulation.

Here are some tips on how to maximize your hair growth.

  • Nurture and Rejuvenate your hair with vitamin B, protein, Zinc, biotin and Silica. These nutreitns are building block for hair.

  • Eat foods rich in iron: Iron is also essential for hair growth specialy for oroxygnation and circultation. It can be found in green leafy vegetables, dates, blackstrap molasses and figs. Vitamin C helps to absorb iron in the body.

  • Address Hormonal imbalances: Male Pattern Baldness is caused by a combination of genetic predisposition and hormonal imbalances. Over production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a type of testosterone is responsible for it. DHT shrinks hair follicles, making it impossible for healthy hair to survive.

  • Support underactive thyroid gland: Hypothyroidism can cause thinning hair. Increasing iodine intake through kelp and sea vegetable can support thyroid function. Herbs such as Bladderwrak, kelp and coleus and nutrient selenium and zinc are helpful too.

  • Address stress: Yoga, meditation and exercise are best medicines for stress. Herbs such as Gotu Kola, Bacopa, St. John's wort, green oats are helpful.

  • Essential fatty acids are important for hair growth. Defeciency can result in brittle and dry hair. This can be corrected by including fish, nuts and seeds in diet.

  • Improve scalp circulation: Add few drops of rosemary oil to base oil and massage scalp regularly. Coconut oil, olive oil and jojoba oil can be used as base oil.

  • Use natural product over commercial products: Some commercial products including hair spray, styling gel are loaded with harmful chemical Such as parabens, diethanolamine (DEA), triethanolamine (TEA), sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, petrolium, propylene glycol, synthetic colors and synthetic fragrances. This can further damage your hair.
